Jorge Mendes is eager to cook up some business with Milan and has offered another of his clients, Diogo Costa, to potentially replace Mike Maignan. The Rossoneri are having trouble coming to terms with their star goalie. His summer departure can’t be totally ruled out.

According to Portuguese publication BolaNaRede (via OneFootball), the valuation of the Porto goalie is about €45M. He has spent his entire career at his current club, amassing 152 appearances. He has conceded 128 goals and kept 63 clean sheets and has 20 caps with the national team.

The powerful agent is trying to package some of his footballers along with Sergio Conceiçao. On top of Diogo Costa, PSG’s Manuel Ugarte and Lille’s Tiago Santos have also been dangled to Milan.

On the other hand, it’s far from certain Milan will indeed appoint the Porto gaffer despite his representative’s lobbying. Per Sky, he’s losing momentum due to his contractual situation and an uncertain internal dynamic at his club. The Rossoneri might not necessarily wait for the situation to unfold since they face competition for other options.

Our Take on Milan and Diogo Costa

He’d be a high-end substitute, but everything is extremely premature concerning their transfer market. If they don’t think they can reach a long-term agreement with Maignan, this would be the summer to sell him for the highest sum possible, but they can easily postpone everything to the next one since he has yet two years on his contract.
